Jupiter In Libra

September has basically been a tense bottleneck of eclipses and retrogrades, but there’s nothing like a big kiss from the cosmic gift dealer to take the edge off, amirite?

If you’re a Libra or a Libra Rising, Jupiter’s movement into your home sign today is super appropriate for a Friday. You being you, I’m guessing you’ll celebrate with some sophisticated booze in a harmonious and stylish social setting worthy of New York Fashion Week.

Even if you’re partying at your laptop tonight, being hard at work will be an equally celebratory move to make, because Jupiter’s tour through your sign will put plenty of wind beneath your wings this coming year.

A common misconception people make about Jupiter is that it makes it rain indiscriminately upon anyone it’s aspecting. A lucky Jupiter transit doesn’t turn everyone into an overnight millionaire — it merely expands and uplifts whatever it touches. Having Jupiter move through your sign might entail little more beyond feeling really good about yourself, or feeling especially optimistic about your prospects. However, as we all know, positive feels have a funny way of turning into positive results — the idea being that if your sense of well-being gets you to try new things and put yourself out there in exciting and scary ways, you might just rake in a cosmic windfall of rewards.

This is also true for any of you who have already had your nose to the grindstone for some time. And what about the rest of us plebes, you ask? If you have personal planets in any of the cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, or Capricorn), you’ll be getting a palpable assist from this alignment, especially after dealing with Pluto in Capricorn and Uranus in Aries over the last few years.

In a universal sense, Jupiter in Libra gives us all an opportunity to experience a collective growth spurt related to the Libran ideals of peace, justice, harmony and diplomacy. In its most elemental form, Libra is all about our relationship to The Other: what the soul encounters when it comes face to face with itself. Libra teaches us the importance of maintaining balance between these two polarities – of making room for everyone’s needs and perspectives. This is certainly a departure from Virgo’s tendency to point out the flaws in our thinking and eschew mutual understanding in favor of a critical approach. If this means we’ll extend more generosity to others while we’re bickering over a political Facebook post, it’s fair to say that most of us would welcome that at this stage in the game. The more difficult part is that it might be up to you to reach across the aisle first.
